Mailing to Chile from USA

Hello, Ive done Zero international shipping as I have read a lot of horror stories. But as of late am considering shipping to Chile. Can someone please let me know what is involved in say "26 coins weighing 5 ounces aka 142 grams" ?

Thanks
Mike
Not sure about local laws etc, but from what i've read about similiar topics is that generally don't list them as coins. Also, package it as securely as possible, just a padded envelope might not be enough you want to wrap it in tape aswell. ALWAYS get tracking with international and proof of posting, if you don't it's so easy for a dishonest swapper to just say "it never arrived" and if you don't have tracking or proof you can't prove them wrong.

Hi Mike, If you ship to Chile, youll have to ship registered, if you want to have the best chance of them arriving. It will cost at least $20.00+, in my experience.Probably lots more.
It starts around $16.00,base rate, registered or not. Then they weigh it and add more $$ to the cost. They also add more depending on the value. You can ship 1 coin ,regular mail, for $1-$2.
Good luck...Oh yeah, if you do ship, simply write Hobby Items.

Hey John, Man, good info, thank you - however it does not seem likely I will ship, as the value is not worth the shipping rates.

I have a ton of foreign request, despite putting in my profile that I do not ship outside USA. (except Canada) I was just wondering if it is worth it, nope.

Best way I deal with this is ask the person if they have a relative in Canada or USA, as I can ship there for decent rates, I let the friend or family handle this (as Im sure they do often) and it has worked out well most of the time. Just depends how much they want the coins.

I only considered it because I cant get anyone to trade for more scare coins, seems the Americans do not want to let go of anything decent. (someone please prove me wrong) I don't need anymore common coins. I sell usually because I cannot find ANY coins Im looking for, and my needs list is over 100 items, not rare coins, just scarce. SO, I wanted to try foreign trades, but not feeling to secure in Silver swaps.. I digress, sigh. Im to the point to where Im paying a premium for the coins I want, no trading, just buying. Thanks Heritage Auctions.

My one experience of posting to Chile (collectable nintendo game which I sold for about $200) was a negative one. I now dont post anything there
