State Quarters Box

I started to design coin boxes for the few coins that I still have and this is what I have in my mind to create for the State Quarters series. I want to use walnut wood for the box and velvet for the bottom of the box (not necessarily blue velvet). What do you think?

Nice!

This is for the circulating nickel series I suppose. The NC silver issues would react to contact with the wood, I guess.

Indeed, it's for circulating series. I just wanted a better way to store these coins and this is what I found to be appropriate.
Cool! That's a really nice way to store them. :)But you can only fit 50 in there. What about US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and America Samoa? And then there's the D and P mintmark as well. So that's 110. I think it needs to be second level. ;)

You forgot District of Columbia, so that makes 112.

I actually didn't know about DC. Cool!
I didn't forgot but I want to make separate boxes for territories and for national parks. Actually what I should do to the current box is another grid layer to store the coins from both mints.

Yes! That sounds awesome! :wiz:
It might be interesting to investigate the opportunity to make it a bit more complex (;0

It could be done quite easy with a CNC but my main target is to reduce the space occupied by the box as much as I can and still to have a decent box design. I think that making a grid for all quarters on a map like in the picture would increase considerably the sizes of the final box.
sure :D
