Hello mates I come with a little question for a trip that I am planning to do to Budapest at the end of February with some friends.
I saw that our hungarian community is not the biggest one here in Numista but I thought that with them and maybe other members with previous holidays over there could help me.
I want to try to strain an activity like go to a flea market but, we go from a Thursday to a Saturday, so to a few of them we wont be able to go because they are made on Sunday.
As I dont go alone to this trip I need to find somehting more wide, not only coins, need to add military stuff (that i love also). After google this topic I found that the "best" options are ECSERI MARKET, BUDA RAG FAIR, BAKANCSOS STREET MARKET, LŐRINCI FLEA MARKET as they have coins and military items.
Any recomendations or ideas? Would you like to give me any kind of advice?
Also if you want to tell me about any other activity we should do over there, I am open to hear them!

I gave up on these markets a few years ago, but I can share my experience. You won't find anything useful in Ecseri. It had a "good" reputation a long time ago (you could buy everything there, I mean literally everything...), but now it's full of overpriced items and fakes. Good deals usually take place before opening hours, when dealers buy the antique stuff from shady people who collect it in the countryside, but as a foreigner none of them would sell you anything. Sometimes you can find good deals at Bakancsos, but as you don't speak Hungarian probably you will end up with much higher prices. As for coins, you won't find many. I know collectors who buy coins on coin meetings and sell them there for non-collectors well over their value.
There is a coin meeting on Tuesdays which is better than the markets, but as you will stay from Thursday to Saturday, unfortunately it's not an option.
And that's all. There are very few collectors here. However I hope you will enjoy your stay in my country. Most people in Budapest are open minded and friendly with tourists and the sights are beautiful. Just don't behave like drunken Brits at a stag party, because we really hate them. :D
I’m not really familiar with Budapest (I’m living in the countryside), but maybe you can try some coin shop (yes, more expensive, but at least not fake coins ).
Anyway Budapest is a nice city to going around, enjoy your trip!
I will take into account all the advices you gave me. Specially yours BSmith, maybe we skip the "market plan" after all or if we go, we will need to work hard on the prices as you tell me.
As its a trip with friends, you know, beer is kind of imperative but I dont expect us to do anything out the place as we go there to know the city (beer will be for the free time).
Again, thank so much for your advices! ?
