So I was searching through some Canadian penny rolls and found some older U.S.A. coins. One of them is a 1909 U.S. Wheat penny and after looking it up I see that there are 4 varieties of the 1909 coin. Two of the varieties have an engraved V.d.b. on it, mine does not. So after counting those two out there is one variety that is called the 1909 S penny, but I can't find a picture. I will post pictures of the coin I found, I don't see an S on it anywhere but I am not sure if the 1909 S should have an S on it as I have not seen one.

Sorry for the large pictures :P
There is some info here...

Perfect thanks! Guess mine is not an S, just an regular old 1909 Penny :P Still cool to find.
Yeah, it has no mintmark, which means it is from Philadelphia
Cool find in a Canadian roll though!
Hey Pat! Yea it was a cool find. I didn't even notice it was 1909 the first time I went through the coins, but after I rechecked the coins I was planning to keep it showed up :) Also found some 1940-1960 U.S. pennies and nickles.

Any sign of the coins yet? I eagerly checked my mail box today to see if the coins you sent got here, but not here yet :P
Not yet. ):

Stupid customs. I know it has left the US though.
There is a VDB. Look at the bottom with a magnifying glass.
There is a VDB on my coin? I don't have a magnifying glass at the moment but after looking at the coin very closely I do not see any VDB markings of any kind. All of the other markings on the coin are clearly visible without a magnifying glass so it would be weird that just the VDB got really worn off... don't think there is a VDB on my coin :P
Maybe this picture will show the coin a little better... for some reason my camera has a tough time focusing on this coin lol.
