How to become banknote referee?

6 posts • viewed 217 times
Hello, I know the question of how to become a referee has been asked any times before but I cannot find any new threads with the answers. So anyways I was wondering if there is a need for new banknote referees. If so could someone let me know how to apply. I would want to be a co-referee to the United States if possible. Thanks for any response! ;)
I've been toying with the same idea. I've added a handful of notes myself and having been thinking about how much easier it would be just to approve them as I create them :p

Just curious (pun intended) on some of the notes you've added CGeorge. Wondering how they compare to what I've done. Here's one of mine: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/note203946.html

Ha, I have been doing the same. I have been adding new U.S. Banknote pages Ex:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/note203921.html

Adding Federal Reserve Bank letters for exiting coin pages Ex:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/note201734.html

Or adding my world banknotes from my collection Ex:

(Not sure if you can see this one as it hasn't been approved)

I agree! I have sooo many banknote requests in my que that have been pending for a while... ok, maybe a day, I have been one Numista for a lot longer since they added banknotes:P It would be nice to help others and myself verify their banknote requests so they can be added to the catalog.
Hello,

firstly, ask current referee, if it is co-referee positon you ask for. In most cases, you would need his/her approval. Then ask one of the catalogue administrators, we put all applications in one place and then decide on those.

Thanks Jarcek! I forgot about this thread... I applied to be a referee for the United States banknote section about 20 days ago and Xavier told me that he had added it to his agenda and would revert to me soon. It has been about 20 days though so i'm not sure if he forgot about my request...
Not forgotten, just on the pile of work and other requests. :°
