Banknote storage

Hello everybody,

Maybe somebody can deal with his good experience where or how to store your banknotes. Some special numismatic items or made by yourself.
Till now i use numismatic pockets + album, but those are expensive.

Thanks in advance

Hi, I personally use a 2in binder with BCW pocket pages.

These BCW pocket pages hold 3 banknotes per page and you can by 100 of them for only $25

I use archival quality banknote holders that I get from here:

However, at 35p each (plus postage), they aren't all that cheap.

I use BCW pages, and throw the ones I need to put away in a box.
I just use decent quality, standard A4 document holders. I keep my folder flat so the notes don't slip down.
I use these albums, for most of my banknotes.

These are really for postcards, but most banknotes fit very easily.
The album cost me £10.00 with the sheets at £0.18 each
I have 19 of these albums so far, but need to buy a couple more as they are filling up.

I have a 3 ringed folder for the larger banknotes
I'm just a collector of coins, not a slave to it, unless I am in a coin shop.

If you have an A4 4-ring binder, you can get Hagner pages.
They are black card, with quite rigid plastic on, and the note slips
under the bigger top part and is held in the smaller lower part.
My pictures, showing they come in 1 or 2 or 3 spaces for notes ...

I show lifting each part up to put the note in. :)

Lots of good advice here. Remember to keep your banknotes in a DRY place (in your home). I have heard countless sad stories of rare banknotes/coins being damaged due to exposure to moisture. I really think it's a great idea to preserve your banknotes in mylar sleeves (PVC free). Avoid cheap sleeves. BCW & Lighthouse produce decent sleeves & can be bought on eBay
