Hi, how should I know what year are my cruzados from? I don't see anything on any of them. Numista says that there are signature 23, signature 25 and similars, but without explanation.
The person who made the banknote page most likely took the "e.g. Signature 25" straight from the catalog. They really should have said who signed it or showed pictures of the different signatures.
Hello!
I am responsible for the Brazilian banknotes.
Some information is necessary:
1. Brazilian bills never displayed the years in which they were printed. Identification is only possible by consulting a specific catalog of Brazilian banknotes, where it is possible to consult the series. Even WPM fails.
2. All the ballots that are in the Numista today, have already been revised and corrected by me. Obviously I may have passed some error. But, as these are reported or I notice, I will make the necessary corrections.
3. When I took on the role of catalog arbiter, I already found banknotes registered with the Numista and many of them, with some serious errors, mainly dates. They have been corrected.
4. Many ballots still need to be registered. After all, they have been produced for almost two centuries. One day I will complete them all. It will still take a long time, but I will get there.
5. One year was printed on the last ballots. But, don't get confused. In fact, this is the year that the ballot design was approved and not the year of its printing.
6. As for the signatures, it has been a few weeks since all of them have been made available and I have already adapted all entries to reflect the signatures corresponding to each variant.
Welcome to my parents' ballots. It is always a walk through culture and learning about our rich history, science and nature.
