I have been collecting CDN banknotes for 42 years. During the past 8, I have slowly picked up the world banknote bug (no offence intended to those pandemic front-line workers).
Occasionally, I participated on CPMF but then they temporarily shut down so I found solace in the World Section of CCF. A year ago I started working on my own site & not only realized I needed to broaden my social media horizons but discovered Numista in the process. I have to say that I'm very impressed with your site & your banknote catalogue and everyone's efforts to contribute to it. It (& the option to swap) should be very inspirational to the new collector.
I have added (& hope to add more notes to this fabulous site).
This is great! 1 month and 1 day in, we are at more than 10,000 listings! I think that is amazing. On a daily basis, I am also clearing hundreds of edits. Folks are submitting great pictures of watermarks. Others are doing the less fun job of standardizing. I am so glad to be a part of this community.
I think it is fair to say that Numista is very close to being the standard for online notgeld tracking.
When I get everything in the que worked, I use the time to start loading my own collection. I am impressed that I am only having to add 2 to 5 items a night, because almost all the notes in my collection are on the site already!
This is great. I am loving all the new people that Numista hasnt necessarily had participating on the coin side, showing up and loading banknotes and creating new listings..
Just wonderful guys!

If you feel that a banknote is missing you can create a request to add it. But I encourage you to use advanced search and make sure it really is not in the database yet.
I didn't expect it would grow so quickly! Congratulations to Oklahoman and Sulfur, who did an incredible work to launch the banknote catalogue, and to all the other referees and contributors!

The referees are doing quality work, and folks are submitting quality edits and new pages. I love and appreciate how mistakes are getting edited quickly. Great photographic improvements as well as fleshed out and detailed listings. This is great. I have even noticed some are providing catalog numbers from the Banknote Book. Awesome!

Wow! When I joined Numista less then two years ago I thought that notes catalogue was yeaaaaaaars old, and now I find out that you guys started building the notes catalogue in 2020 only. It's mind-blowing the amount of banknotes is already listed. 👏
Hopefully there will also be more banknotes collectors joining the page soon to have more chances to swap.
