Actual value - cents if you are lucky.

Imitation play money practically.

Pretty annoying that you do not mention clearly that this coin is a replica with no value at all

I agree, I have a real issue with the number of nonsense threads on Numista now, there needs to be some moderation to deal with the following

1. Clueless dreamers like this guy who think their play money is real and have never read a book in their lives.

2. Threads on nonsense topics like shooting a coin with a gun - I complained there and got lambasted by the Billy Bob Trump crew.

3. People who use text speak and have really bad grammar and spelling (Rich coming from me, but my problems are more with typos and poor typing skills) these people can't even start sentences with a Capital and use all Capitals for eshouting.

4. Posts that are not in recognisable English or French, yes we know not everyone speaks these languages well - but I suspect many low quality threads in English at least are from countries where English is the main language or at least a widely used one.

5. Immaturity in threads. As a coin site, we need some maturity and intelligence in our forums, Numista is a massive resource, but the forums are degenerating with moronic threads like this one.

I love coins, both old and precious and also change coins. If its round and shiny, it will garner my interest. I also collect stamps and have an abiding interest in History, Archaeology, and Social Issues. I also worship the musical god Prince.
1. Sorry, not everybody is as intelligent as you are.

2. You didn't got lambasted, you just got friendly sincerely advice. And what is nonsense to one person may be very interesting to someone else.

3. Some people don't use capitals when it's necessary. So what? You use capitals when it's not necessary (like in your signature). What's the difference?

4. Maybe you're not as intelligent as you think? I read most of the forum and I seldom see not recognizable English.

5/6. Your signature says: "If its round and shiny, it will garner my interest.". The initial post is about something round and shiny, yet you don't do anything else than belittle the poster. I think it's better to remove your signature: you don't mean what you say and it's full of incorrect use of capitals. And worshiping an artist doesn't sound mature and intelligent either. And you are seeking for maturity and intelligence here, right?

One good advice: try to be more open minded and tolerant! You never know who you're dealing with here, it might be a younger kid, or someone less intelligent, or someone with little knowledge of English,... Isn't it allowed to collect coins when you're younger, or less intelligent or with little knowledge of English, or asking questions about your collection on the forum in such cases?
Of course not every thread is equally interesting, but when something bothers you shake your head, roll your eyes and move on.
First of all, people do not read my signature - they read my posts.

Second of all, you are in Belgium, a country where they speak French and some kind of Dutch, I live in New Zealand where British English is supreme. It is different from Yankee doodle American English. You probably don't recognise my English as I notice you use American spellings like recognise with a z, and being a Belgian obvioulsy do not understand colloquialisms and casual terms that native English speakers fo.

Finally I said my English skills are good, but my typing skills are poor, I have dyslexia and a old computer. Most of the people I am against are just plain lazy.

Thank you SKUMARIND, and sorry, I forgot one very important category: the beginners. I said younger kids, and that's not the same, not everyone starts collecting as a kid. Even the greatest experts started as beginners and probably asked less intelligent questions back then.
He is not a kid, he is a time wasting troll.

Say it loud, a waste of mine and everyone else's time.

Last time I looked, they speak English in India, only the most isolated and extreme poorest people can not, despite their government's drive to speak Hindi only, English is the language of the Government and the Elite in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh (I doubt he is from Pakistan as his name sounds Hindu and Pakistan is a Muslims only country (This man obviously can use a computer or phone, so he can't be that poor and he can buy Play money coins).

And even more if he lives in a Western country, his English should be near perfect.

If I knew it was a child and/or a beginner with a genuine thirst for knowledge, I would be very kind or just ignore the thread, but these types proliferate on the Stampboards site too and they are just there to get attention.

We want coin collectors, not people who waste our time to find out what they have is worth for the sole purposes of trying to scam bunnies on ebay and contribute NOTHING to our hobby.

EssorProf, you have been sucked in.

Update: SKUMARIND has left Numista. Hopefully it’s because they were exposed as a troll and left before people started catching on, or maybe this community really did bully a child with poor English skills away from the hobby forever. I really don’t know, but I choose to believe the first option, as the second one is really quite disturbing.

You didn’t get ‘lambasted by the Billy Bob Trump crew’, they were simply telling you to lighten up a bit. It’s a quarter! The world’s not going to end if you shoot one. Not only that, but none of them even mentioned their political views, so calling them ‘the Billy Bob Trump crew’ and implying they’re all dumb rednecks that drive tractors, fly confederate flags and marry their cousins is inappropriate and insulting. You’re not a ‘redneck’ if you experiment with coins. I do, and I’m probably the farthest you can get from a redneck. If you shot a 1933 St. Gaudens double eagle then we might have some problems, but as I said before, it’s a common quarter.
Princetane i can see your point that some of the writing seem very Ad hoc, seem to be a very flyby user. Only want to know value and price when value and prices are quite easily obtained online these days. Is there any way to remove post from feed?

However know that everyone starts somewhere. It does get annoying when conversation/post turn in to drivel or ranty :D (joking)
Fine I get the point, never suggest anything ever again.
