Guinea is another one of the countries I am referee for, but have not yet gotten around to buying a coin from. z)
Probably because most of their coins are commemoratives.

They're also the only part of the former French West Africa that does not use the CFA Franc other than Mauritania.

Guinea & Guinea Bissau are 2 countries where there coins don't turn up very often, never found any in lots, you tend to have to pay over the odds for fairly standard coins just to add to your world collection, but it's all part of the thrill of the chase when hunting down world coins B..

Kind of like the opposite of Guinea (and Mauritania), Guinea-Bissau is the only non-former French colony to use the West African CFA Franc (BCEAO).

Technically the coin on the right is attributed to Iceland, although it was minted at Philadelphia and sold alongside a US commemorative.

Iceland -- 2 kronur, 1963:

3rd November: Iceland
Okay, so I forgot to post on Hungary day. z| To avoid reposting coins I've already put on the per year thread, I'll just select this one:

1907 Hungary 5 Korona - I. Ferencz Jozsef (40th Anniversary of Coronation)
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces15759.html
This is actually a restrike, given the almost reflective field behind the lettering around the rim.

And for Iceland:

1940-42 Iceland 1, 2, 5, 25 Aurar - Christian X

These coins were issued while Iceland was under British occupation, after Denmark's capitulation to the Germans in March 1940.

No doubting they like Fish in Iceland!

To be fair it was mostly only British, all the others (apart from the Mughals) only ruled tiny costal exclaves from the mid-18th century onwards. The Wikipedia page for the Comptoirs des Indes (the vestiges of French India after the Seven Years' War), has a postcard from 1920 that says of French India:

"Lost in the midst of the vast British domain, these ports are nearly worthless. They are treasured by France for their sentimental value."
